The City of Port Wentworth Leisure Services Department is dedicated to offering residents quality and safe recreational programs and services that lends itself to team building, enriching people's lives and contributing to the total development of families and the City. These diverse year-round programming, for all ages, focus on overall health and well-being.

Our mission is to preserve and improve the physical, social and economic health of Port Wentworth neighborhoods, support district self-reliance and enhance the quality of life for residents through community-based programs, events, neighborhood-oriented services and public/private cooperation.

Stand Up For America Day

Port Wentworth's annual Stand up for America Day is celebrated every year on the last Saturday in April to honor America's service men and women, past and present. 

During Stand Up For America Day, the streets of Port Wentworth are filled with a parade, music, arts, crafts, food and kiddie rides. The event will kick off with the parade at 10am, followed by an all-day festival with live entertainment all day and a fireworks show at 9pm. 

Join us for this homegrown celebration of our American heritage as we salute our soldiers and veterans for their contributions to our nation!

Tormenta FC Summer Camps

Tormenta FC Academy camps are fantastic experiences for both veteran and new soccer players from ages 4 to 13 years old. Our dynamic coaches will provide fun games that will promote soccer development, learning, character building, and exercise. 

  • Half-day camp runs at each location from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Individuals that register for full-day camp will eat lunch in an inside area from noon to 1 p.m. and then play indoor soccer from 1-3 p.m. 
  • Each camper will receive a Tormenta FC t-shirt while full-day campers also receive a soccer ball.

Gymnastics is an entertaining and exciting way for kids to stay active and build various skills. During our 2024 gymnastics camp we will be focusing on the fundamentals of gymnastics while also building strengthening skills (balancing, flexibility, tumbling, and jumping), arts and crafts, playing team building games and having healthy competition.
